Erected in 1923, the bronze sculpture stands in the garden of Malvern Library. It depicts the winged figure of a boy, representing the Spirit of Youth, standing with his arms stretched upwards, and holding a flaming torch; at his feet is a crown of thorns. It is a memorial to the fallen of the wars of 1914-18 and 1939-45. The sculptor was Richard Reginald Goulden.
