Description

1823-32. Simple tall Gothic Revival rectangular church with battlemented tower on NW elevation. Whitewashed rubble with dressed stone margins; orientated roughly SE/NW. Pointed headed entrance in base of 4-stage tower rising 2 short upper stages above apex of gable with angle pinnacles centre and 2 flanking windows; 3-bay side elevations each with 3 windows; 2 windows in east gable; all windows pointed headed with Y-tracery and glazing, some blind. Slate roof.

Interior: original fittings; galleried on 3 sides; panelled front to gallery borne on simple Roman Doric columns.

Octagonal panelled pulpit approached by flight of stairs to right, with penitent's platform to left. Panelled false door and doorpiece to rear with pinnacled polygonal groined sounding board with white ogee roof topped by wooden urn.

Ecclesiastical building in use as such. Good set sabre legged Elders' chairs.
