Description

Dated 1828. Large symmetrical U-plan steading, 2 storeys but with centre cross-arm of U built into side of slope, rendering long SE loft facade with gabled outer bays as single storey with access to lofts from lane running full length of frontage; wide entrances to lofts in outer gabled bays and off-centre.

All harl pointed rubble with roughly tooled ashlar dressings. Symmetrical 2-storey, 7-bay arms (6 bays to inner court face) with 1st floor alternate slit vents and square louvred windows in both elevations continuing in same symmetrical pattern in 1st floor frontage of NW facing U-plan court. Centre datestone close under eaves; stable and byre accommodation in ground floor all giving onto court. Later, small single storey, single pitch heated henhouse projects at NW gable. West Highland slate roofs.
