Description

Style of Alexander Thomson, but probably by his partner,
Robert Turnbull, 1875/6.
"Thomsonesque" villa with Egypto-Greek detailing. 2-storey
principal (north) elevation on 3 bays, outer ground floor
windows set forward and linked by continuous entablature
supported at entrance on pair Egypto-Greek columns. (Tall
doorway (modern door) behind, with side-lights) windows
all have pilastered mullions. Bracketted eaves; corniced
stacks; shallow-pitch piended slate roof. Rear wing.
Interior also has "Thomsonesque" detailing, including
Egypto-Greek columned hall screen.
