Alexander Brodie of Lethen gave up Lethen to his eldest
son (also Alexander) in 1732 and built himself a house at
Brightmony. He had a numerous family, which might have caused
the building of the additional 2 bays at the east gable of
the house.
NW skewputt initialled AB1732.
House and garden walls of special interest for survival
of original layout.
