Late 18th/early 19th century, 2-storey 3-bay house with
flanking single storey, 2-bay wings, all south facing;
circa 1835 2-storey, 3-bay wing projects at rear (north).
All harled with ashlar and rendered margins. Symmetrical
3-bay front with former centre door now window; entrances
in simple porch in right wing and in glazed porch in NW
re-entrant angle both dated 1889. Large rear with symmetrical
3-bay west elevation with blind windows in centre bay,
in ground and 1st floors, and with symmetrical 2-bay.
fenestration in north gable. 4-and 12-pane glazing; corniced
wallhead and end stacks; slate roof; crested tile ridge.
Interior; interior re-cast; little of interest.
George Sinclair (of Brabster and West Cannisbay) "has
lately enlarged the House of West Cannisbay... and rendered
it a comfortable residence."
