Description

Built 1883-5 (dated 1885). Mansion with classical details,
essentially rectangular-plan, symmetrical elevations with
advanced and recessed bays; 2 storeys with basement and
attic, basement sunk at E against terrace (terrace removed at
W) with Ionic-pilastered port-cochere central.
Stugged red coursers with polished dressings, string courses
and rusticated quoins. Most windows architraved and corniced;
sashes, small-paned at ground, remainder plate-glass;
pedimented dormer heads to most 1st floor and wall-head attic
windows. Canted ground floor window central on long W wall;
flanks have wide pedimented central bays. Main cornice; plain
parapet enclosing piended and platform slated and leaded
roof: corniced massive stacks.
Low garage extension to N flank.
Interior with extensive timber panelling and decorative
plasterwork.
