Dated 1900. Stables set out around square setted courtyard.
Single and 2-storey ranges with gabled 1st floor windows,
rubble walling, polished granite angle and window margins,
deeply overhanging eaves, slate roofs. The whole is lavishly
fitted out in Knockbrex estate manner, eg good cast-iron
stalls, timber lined harness room, brass recessed door
furniture.
Main elevation to W has central arched pend giving access to
courtyard. Asymmetrical but with centre and end bays having
broader gables with oculi. Timber square-plan domed fleche
over entrance bay with weathervane. All windows single light,
casements with upper part small-pane, lower part plate glass.
The right side of this range converted to domestic use. N
range single storey with wide timber garage doors, small
decorative ogee roofed lead ventilator. Ferrous metal lattice
girder spans courtyard presumably once supporting glazed
canopy over garage doors. To SW angle 2-storey piended and
swept roofed tower with lucarnes housed dovecot. S range
single storey stables with good quality cast-iron stalls. E
range much altered with single storey modern additions.
