Probably 1848. Broad-eaved, single storey railway station
with wide-corniced big end and axial stacks. Stugged red
ashlar with polished dressings; slated roofs. 2 south-facing
gables (one narrow, one wide); 4-bay W (approach) elevation,
door in shallow projecting gabled bay. Small-paned sash
windows.
Line opened 1848 by the Glasgow, Dumfries and Carlisle
railway.
