Description

Probably earlier 19th century. Pair of detached 2-storey
3-bay farm steading blocks flanking eastern entrance to
courtyard, the larger (to south), with 3-stage octagonal
dovecot adjoining north east angle, now converted for
domestic use. All rubble-built with ashlar dressings - north
block white-washed. DOVECOT: (now also forms part of house)
continuous cill band at each level; openings mostly blind
(glazed openings each level of one face); square openings to
3rd stage with flight holes to 2 faces; bracketted eaves,
facetted low roof with weather vane finial.
SOUTH BLOCK: 3 bays to north and to east elevations, former
with gabled brick porch added, latter with blocked cartways
and loft door, off-centre main door, windows in outer bays.
Modern glazing. Corniced stacks. NORTH BLOCK: rectangular-
plan; 3-bay south elevation has margined openings, off-centre
door to each level, windows (1 blind) in outer bays; 2
square-headed cartways to courtyard, single bay east flank.
Piended or gabled roofs, all slated.
