Description

Probably John Loban of Stornoway, architect. Built 1816.
Symmetrical. 2-storey and attic former manse with single
storey flanking wings. Harled. West elevation; inner bay
shallow advanced, taller, and gabled, with piended porch.
2 piended canted dormers. Apex stacks. Wings both 3 bays
with inner door. Mostly small-paned sash windows. Slate roofs.
Rear stair turret.
Walled garden to east linked to house.

Statement of Interest

Loban was brought to Barra for "estimating manse" and the

design is probably his.
