Dated 1686 (now inside) reconstructed with widened principal
jamb 1712. (1600 dormer head inserted over door is probably
relic of earlier house). 3-storey and attic L-plan stair in
angle now enclosed by widening of jamb, corbelled rectangular
turret with lean-to roof. Finials N. gable, straight skews.
1st floor W. windows c. 1820. Interior remodelled c. 1920,
doorway given gothic head and additional windows inserted
with cemented surrounds.
Originally built by the Bonars who owned the estate from
about 1454; sold 1692 to the Drummonds, passed to the Earl of
Airlie by marriage 1812 sold to Lord Rollo after the death of
the 8th countess of 1833.
