Description

Dated 1839. Cottage style with broad eaves and octagonal
shafted chimneys, lattice glazing. Single-storey, snecked
rubble. Schoolhouse stuccoed and spoiled with later
additions.

Statement of Interest

Newton of Pitcairns was feued in the 18th century by the

Grahams of Orchil who then owned the estate. The village

still has late 18th century character but the houses are now

nearly all altered; one is dated 1793.
