N range of steading, dated 1860 above depressed-arched entrance pend.Render, lined as ashlar to dressings, chamfered reveals to major openings. Stone bull's head in plaque above pend; entrance surmounted by date plaque and clock with fruit ornament; flat roof. Cartshed and granary to right of pend; 3 arches survive at ground, 4 windows to loft above. Doorway to right with windows flanking; door to loft above. Gabled bay to outer right with single window to 1st floor. Single storey range to left of pend.
Straight skews, finials to gables. Red pantiles.
J Douglas of Athelstaneford Mains was a renowned breeder of shorthorn cattle in the mid 19th century (Martine).
