A N Paterosn, 1921. Red sandstone ashlar war memorial. Triangular section to shaft, with diagonal angle pilasters, and set on ashlar base. 2 ashlar drinking bowls set in moulded panels on 2 faces; names of fallen heroes incised in frieze above, and dedication in frieze of cornice. Moulded base to ashlar finial above, comprised of 3 crosses, clasping a shaft.
Noteable design of war memorial for its practical, and somewhat unusual combination with drinking fountain. For nearby precedent, see East Saltoun Fountain.
