Description

Mid 19th century. U-plan steading. Rubble yellow stone with droved grey ashlar dressings. Grey slates.

S RANGE: 2-storey 7-bay stable, cartshed and granary range. Stables to E end, entered by doorway on E gabl; timber stall divisions and

hayhecks retained, and granite setts. 4 deep segemental cart arches to S elevation at centre and W end, with chamfered reveals. Granary windows above each bay to S and N elevations, and hayloft door to E gable. Gablet skews and consoled skewputt to gable end.

W RANGE: 2-stage sawamill to N end.

Sheepfolds arranged at centre of courtyard.

Statement of Interest

Colour of stone and dressings echoes those of mid 19th century additions to Eaglescairnie House.
