Description

Early 19th century. Picturesque, single chambered oval plan rustic curling house adjacent to the lake. Tufa rockwork, extending to form low curtain walls with occasional pinnacles, and abutted at ground with large shells. Round arched entrance in advanced porch, with decorative bordered glazing pattern. Polygonal zinc roof.

INTERIOR: timber panelling; lockers with curling stones.

Statement of Interest

Once thatched in the style of a "cottage orne" (Hunt). The icehouse is similarly walled in tufa. A-Group with other Gosford Estate buildings; see notes for Gosford House.
