Description

Dated 1883. Single storey, 3-bay lodge to Auchinleck House, with out-of-character modern rendered addition at rear. Snecked, stugged ashlar with raised polished ashlar quoins, base course, eaves course, stop-chamfered reveals. Grey slates (renewed), saw-tooth skews, ball finials to gables. Central door with strip-pane fanlight, gabled dormerhead with date-stone breaking eaves above with cast-iron ridge brattishing. Bipartites flanking with 2-pane sash and case frames. Lower, modern wing projecing at right angles at rear.

GATES AND RAILINGS apparently contemporary. 2-leaf cast-iron gates with 2 ball-finialled and corniced ashlar gatepiers, side gate, and railings on dwarf walls with stepped copes.

The above references give an outline history of the estate. Auchinleck House, circa 1760 is listed separately. The central ridge stack of the lodge has been removed.
