Later 19th century. Single storey and attic, 3 bay cottage orne. Squared and snecked stugged sandstone; droved dressings. Chamfered reveals; overhanging eaves, damaged in places; plain bargeboards; kingpost detail to gableheads.
NW (ENTRANCE) ELEVATION: asymmetrical, 3 bay; gabled porch advanced to centre; shouldered arched doorway; remains of boarded timber door; small window to left return; carved timber finial to apex of gable. Tripartite window at ground of bay to right; shield panel set in gablehead. Bipartite window in bay to outer left.
SW ELEVATION: symmetrical, random rubble with stugged and droved dressings; central gable; bipartite window with relieving arch to ground; single window centred in gablehead.
SE ELEVATION: asymmetrical, 2 bay, random rubble with stugged and droved dressings; gabled bay advanced to left; with single window centred to ground; small window to right return. Boarded timber door off centre to left of bay to right.
NE ELEVATION: single symmetrical gabled bay; tripartite window to centre of ground; small window set in gablehead.
Windows currently without glazing. Grey slate roof, some missing (especially on porch roof), with lead ridges. Central ashlar coped ridge stack with circular cans.
Picturesque, pattern book lodge, with an unusually steep pitched roof.
