Description

Circa 1840, 2-storey, 3-bay, symmetrical, Classical, rectangular-plan villa with wing to rear (N). Harled, with contrasting margins. Piended slate roof with deep eaves. Margined windows with 12-pane timber sash and case glazing; stacks removed.

FRONT ELEVATION: 2-leaf timber panelled door to centre with floating cornice, window to left and right, 3 windows to 1st floor. 2 windows to right return elevation.

INTERIOR: (Seen 2009). Original room-plan largely extant. Some simple cornicing and timber fire surrounds.

Statement of Interest

This is a fine, Classical, symmetrical villa, situated in a prominent position in the village with a large greensward to the front. The deep eaves and 12-pane glazing pattern add significantly to the character of the house.
