Description

Later 19th century, 2-storey and attic, wide 3-bay shop and

dwelling; coursed tooled red rubble with tooled ashlar

dressings, painted at ground floor. Adjoining 2-storey,

single-bay addition at north gable, circa 1900.

Symmetrical frontage with shop entrances in outer bays

flanked each side by large shop windows, all openings square

headed with rounded angles. Paired 1st floor segmental

headed-keystoned bipartites in outer bays, single similar

window in centre. Dormers in outer bays with shallow painted

timber gables; 2-pane glazing. Channelled ashlar angle

pilaster strips; corniced end stacks; slate roof. Wide

shallow segmental headed shop window fills ground floor of

wing to north. Bipartite in 1st floor with multi-pane glazing

in upper sashes flanked by pilaster strips clasping gable and terminating with corniced caps; shaped and coped gable with

apex finial. Slate roof.
