Description

David Wilson, engineer; dated 1818. Large single span,
coursed rubble bridge. High ashlar arch ring, with later
rendering; small flood/cattle arch in south side; ashlar cope
to parapet; date-stone in centre of south face above arch;
shallow end buttresses; splayed approaches.
Various iron repair stays.

Statement of Interest

Worn inscription on south side of bridge parapet reads; "This

bridge was erected by the Second District of Roads Rossshire

1818 Alex ........" Surname indistinct but Alex.......

possibly the local engineer in charge.
