Description

Early 18th century with later additions. Harled, ashlar
margins (rendered margins in new wing), 2-storey, now L-plan.
Original 3-bay house, south facing with asymmetrical centre
bay and door; slightly later (probably mid-later 18th
century) wing continuous at east gable and projecting south
to form L-plan. Small windows with plain chamfered margins,
crowsteps and 2 small attic windows in west gable. Macleod
crest on front cavetto skewputt, sun motif to rear skewputt.
Modern (mid 1970's) wing extending south with wide, shallow
bowed bay windows in south gable to ground and 1st floor;
further modern extension at west gable.
Multi-pane glazing - renewed end stacks; slate roof.
Interior; staircase with shaped flat balusters remain in
oldest portion of house. Extensive walled garden; coursed
rubble with dressed copes. Various mural stone plaques.

1. early 18th century marriage lintel with initials AE M MM

2. memorial to Crawford Ross, Tacksman of Cadboll for 50

years who died there in 1862.

3. memorial to James Young of Cadboll, 1870-1966. Cadboll

House of circa 1830, formerly on this site. demolished
