Description

Circa 1800. 3-storey and attic house with later 19th century
3-storey wing to rear. Regular 3-bay S facing frontage
built against slope with entrance and flanking principal
rooms at 1st floor level. Harl pointed rubble with red
tooled and polished ashlar dressings. Centre square porch;
symmetrical fenestration; 3 small swept dormers. W gable
bowed with bowed piended roof, tripartite in ground floor,
3 windows in 1st and 2nd.
3-storey, 2-bay wing projects at rear, the upper floor
windows just breaking wallhead under gablets. 12-pane
glazing to earlier house, 4-pane to wing. Piended platform
roof with paired ridge stacks to main house; end stack and
slated gabled roof to later wing.
Interior. Simple curved staircase to rear of old house;
delicate ceiling cornices to dining and drawing rooms; carved
dining room chimneypiece (probably French); flanking engaged
columns to drawing room chimneypiece.
