Dated 1842. Large farm square, rubble with tooled rubble
dressings. Main south front with slightly advanced centre
gabled bay with high round-headed arch leading to inner
court, with datestone and occulus above. Flanking paired
basket-arched cart-bays, wider at extreme right; single
doorways in outer bays; 6 blocked loft vents; end stacks;
slate roof.
Centre block flanked each side by single storey and attic,
3-bay cottage, each with centre door flanked by bipartites,
piended dormers in outer bays, 4-pane glazing, end stacks
and slate roofs.
Large internal court to rear of main front enclosed by byres
and stables, east and west, and with long crowstepped barn
filling north side (east gable of barn altered and in poor
condition); slate roofs.
Datestone inscrined "Erected by John Sutherland 1842"
Nottingham Mains was mains farm to Forse House.
