Description

Probably William Robertson, Elgin, 1839 possibly
incorporating earlier core. 2-storey S facing house with
irregular 3-bay frontage. Harled with contrasting painted
tooled and polished ashlar margins and dressings.
Advanced outer bays, at E with shallow projection only;
centre door masked by circa 1839 single storey pedimented
porch door and glazed side panels flanked by narrow
sidelights between pilasters with diminutive pediment
detailing and anthemions similar window in E return gable
of porch and similarly detailed pediments to outer 1st floor
windows. W ground floor window enlarged bipartite. Set-back
later single storey asymmetrical wing at W with some similar
detailing. Lying-pane glazing to front 1st floor windows;
varied glazing elsewhere. Coped end and ridge stacks;
shallow slate roofs with deeply overhanging bracketted
eaves; cornice returning to suggest open pediment; cast-iron
anthemion finials.
