Statement of Interest

A good example of a circular-plan dovecot, thought to date from the same period as the nearby Longformacus House (see separate list entry). According to Roberston, the dovecot is 4'7" high, 2'10?" wide, with a circumference of 56?' and a wall thickness of 26". Inside, he noted 490 wooden nests. The walled garden and gate lodge ('The Lodge') are both contained within the estate and are listed separately.
