Thomas Mackenzie (Mackenzie & Matthews) dated 1851. Fragment of baronial mansion house of considerable merit, main part demolished 1956. 3-storey with dormer heads at 2nd, 4-storey crenallated tower and 2-storey wing with dormer heads at 1st and angle turret. Harled, granite dressings.
Loggia west addition, bullfaced granite. W R Davidson of Dess (practising in London) architect 1890s.
