Statement of Interest

The unusual placing of windows to S elevation opposite

internal gable may suggest the W gable is a later addition.

However, the wall thicknesses and window dimensions are

constant throughout. Fairgirth House (Colvend and Southwick

Parish) has a similar ground plan with a large internal gable

with cooking hearth. Both are associated with ecclesiastical

sites.
