Early 19th century. 2-storey house. L-plan. Painted rubble.
Painted margins to windows.
N (ENTRANCE) ELEVATION: 3-bay; bay to left blank. Doorway at centre, with 2-leaf door and fanlight; glazed canopy over. Window at centre at 1st floor. Window to both floors in bay to right.
E ELEVATION: gable advanced to right, with window to both floors. Window to both floors to left.
S ELEVATION: lower modern range adjoined to left. Lean-to glasshouse adjoined to right.
12-pane glazing in sash and case windows. Red sandstone coped skews and small skewputts. Painted rubble gablehead stacks. Slightly graded grey slates to N pitch, purple slates to E pitch and modern range. Octagonal cans.
The house is marked as "Kirkland Cottage" on the OS Map of 1847, and as "Aldouran Lodge" on the OS Map of 1907.
