Attributed to David Neave, circa 1820. Subterranean ice house totally concealed in large (possibly artificial) bank; Sunken D-plan entrance course, snecked rubble retaining walls with saddleback coping, plain iron railings.
INTERIOR: not seen.
The interior was inaccessible for inspection at time of survey due to accumulated garden refuse at the entrance. The ice house is presumed to be coeval with Balruddery House. See also NOTES to Balruddery, East Gates.
