Statement of Interest

Evidence for a sixteenth century garden is noted in records which mention a 1575 sundial. The 1796 northerly garden incorporates 'hot walls' with flues from coal burning stoves. During the 1990s Megginch Castle grounds were used for the filming of 'Rob Roy', some stage props were left including the fibre glass cross. Megginch Castle estate includes Chapel, Gothic Arch, Icehouse, Kennels Cottage, Kingdom Farmhouse, North Lodges, Stables (with Dovecot), Wardheads and West Lodge all listed separately.
