Description

1767-9. Georgian. Circular. Conical slate roof. Harled.
Ashlar steeple at N.W.: upper part in 4 stages; domed
cap; round-headed louvres; blank panels: pedimented
lower part; inscribed panel; quoins; segmental
fanlight to doorway; forestair. Interior: central cast-
iron pier. Gallery added c. 1830. Re-seated c. 1880.
Campbell of Islay sarcophag; and mural tablets. Organ
c. 1890.

Statement of Interest

Ecclesiastical, in use as such. Built at expense of

Daniel Campbell, 2nd of Islay and of Shawfield,

Lanarkshire, who founded Bowmore Village at the same

time.
