Description

Tait and Wilson, circa 1910. Single storey and attic cottage with stables, hayloft and garage ensuite and enclosed by boundary wall to S with lean-to outbuildings. Harled. Boarded doors throughout, swept eaves.

COTTAGE: 3 symmetrical bays; advanced taller gabled bay to centre with roll-moulded architrave to doorpiece, 2-leaf door; window to gablehead above. Paired windows to right and left with tripartite piended dormers above. Piended porch on return to right in re-entrant angle between cottage and stables.

Sash and case windows to ground floor, 4-pane to upper sashes with plate glass to lower sashes; 4-pane casementwindows to attic. Grey slate roof with harled end stacks.

STABLES HAYLOFT AND GARAGES: 5-bay stable block recessed to right (E) of cottage; 2-leaf fanlit door with side lights to centre, wider 2-leaf sliding door to right, fanlit door to outer right. Bipartite casement window to left; single window to outer left. Gabled loading door breaking eaves above bipartite window, rooflight to far right.

GARAGES* LOWER L-plan garage and store block recessed to right, 4 wide sliding doors to garage with 6-pane glazed panel and vent to each door.

Grey slate roof.
