Description

Earlier 19th century. Pair of single storey picturesque improved cottages. Painted rubble with rendered margins. Symmetrical layout with each cottage 3-bay. To outer bays simple doorway, centre bays advanced and gabled with square projecting bay windows with sloping slate roofs. Inner bays with single light windows. All windows single light, casement with 12-pane glazing. To rear single storey projecting piended bays with modernflat-roofed single storey extensions. Saw toothed stepped skews to projecting gables, otherwise straight skews; tall coped stacks with tall paired diamond flues; some octagonal cans. Good graded slate roofs. Sandstone ridges; cast-iron gutter. Traditioanl panelled front doors; incorporating 4-pane light (that to No 1 relocated at rear).
