Description

Late 18th century, with later additions. 2-storey 3-bay house with single storey flat-roofed addition to rear. Red sandstone rubble with broadly droved ashlar margins.

SE (ROAD) ELEVATION: modern glazed door at centre, flanking windows, windows to 1st floor bays under ashlar eaves course; rounded arrises.

SW ELEVATION: gabled; 2 windows at ground, window to right at 1st floor projecting into gablehead.

NE ELEVATION: blank gable.

NW ELEVATION: modern addition to left at ground.

4-pane timber sash and case windows; ashlar coped skews, beak skewputts; apex stacks rebuilt with brick above thackstanes.

Statement of Interest

Compare with Glensyde cottage approximately 200m to SW, which is of similar date and construction, but rather more altered.
