Description

Early 19th century. Single storey, rectangular-plan, detached cottage with various lean-to additions. White painted rubble, ashlar quoins, piended dormer, box dormer.

FRONT ELEVATION: lean-to porch at centre with door to left return, door and 2 windows to right, 2 windows and 1 blocked window to left, harled wallhead stack rising through eaves, box dormer. Left return gable; French window, dormer. Right return gable, coped wallhead stack rising through eaves.

REAR ELEVATION: wrap-around lean-to at left angle, lean-to to right, various doors and windows.

INTERIOR: part furnished as 19th century croft house.

Statement of Interest

Part of a B group with Rosaburn House, Former School, Smiddy, Roadside Cottage, and Stable. Part of this cottage is owned by the Arran Heritage Museum; the remaining part is in private ownership and used as holiday accommodation.
