Description

Rebuilt 1885. Piled-timber pier, with broad head for steamer berth. Three-rail timber railings. At pier head combined waiting room, tearoom and dwelling house, probably c1900, in 1-storey and attic harled building with slated mansard roof. Flat roofed extension to seaward side is timber-railed to form viewing platform.

Statement of Interest

Tighnabruaich and Kilcreggan are the only 'traditional' Clyde steamer piers still in use. The type was once both common and important.
