Circa 1820 Thomas Telford, engineer. Single-storey 3-bay sandstone, Scotch slate roof.
FRONT ELEVATION ashlar, coursed rubble at base of side bays. Symmetrical bowed central bay has door flanked by single windows, conical roof with cast-iron finial. Side bays have windows in shallow recess. Plain coped chimney stacks.
SIDE AND REAR ELEVATIONS: Rubble with dressed quoins. Short piend-roofed wing at S end with lean-to and flat-roofed modern extensions, both roughcast. Open verges with plain bargeboards.
Built as tollhouse on what is now A73, and the least altered of the three surviving bow fronted tollhouses on that route.
