Description

Circa 1790. Single storey, T-plan gate lodge to
Smeaton-Hepburn House, now demolished. Cream ashlar;
base course and moulded eaves course. Entrance in bow
fronted gabled wing; bowed French window, panelled at
base. Windows to each return elevation with consoled
cornice. Window to each piend-roofed wing with consoled
cornice.
Modern extension to N.
Grey slates, corniced ridge stack.

Smeaton-Hepburn House, built 1790, by Sir George

Hepburn. Measured in survey maps for National Buildings

Record, 1948, by S Tyrowicz. Demolished 1949. See

Smeaton-Hepburn Walled Garden and Steading, listed

separately.
