Description

Early 19th century. Long single storey, 6-bay cottage (2 x 3
bays) with single storey former steading incorporated and
continuous with W gable. Harled clay and boulder walling and
boulder case course. 2 doorways (1 glazed as window) flanked
by windows in street elevation; modern 2-pane glazing.
Renewed ridge stacks; piended roof to cottage (E gable),
gabled at W (replacing former thatch). 2 small projecting
gabled wings at rear.

Statement of Interest

Traditional 'clay thatch' (thatch daubed with clay) and clay

daubed square 'lum' replaced by modern materials.
