Description

Dated 1835. Irregular single storey dwelling. 3-bay SE facing

main elevation with centre crowstepped gable linked to similar

set back rear block by small crenellated entrance porch. All

squared tooled ashlar grey granite with similar dressings.

Modern glazing; 2 neatly blocked dormer windows in gablets;

low coped end stacks each with paired coped granite flues set diagonally; slate roofs.

2 rear wings, one with datestone set in gable.

Statement of Interest

Built by 1st Duke of Sutherland as final staging post on route

from south to Golspie. Constructed in style and materials

similar to other contemporary Estate buildings in Sutherland.

Stables to rear converted to dwelling and not included in

listing.
