Earlier 19th century large 2-storey farmhouse with small
courtyard steading to rear (north) built 1828; all built
above slope at west. Rubble-built with ashlar dressings; all whitewashed.
House: 4-bay south elevation arranged as 3 + 1 bays with
central porch and end stacks; basement in 4th bay (left)
entered from west gable; porch (added mid 19th century) has
round-arched window. other windows sashes with 12-pane
glazing; Straight skews (saw-toothed over porch); corniced
end stacks; roofed with graded slates. Asymmetrical elevation
to courtyard.
Steading: single storey; L-plan, west arm with doors and
cartway to courtyard, lean-to with stone slab roof to west
and small gabled wing built at basement level with wall-head
stack above.
Farmhouse seems to have been raised, presumably when a fourth
bay was added.
