Description

Early 18th century. 2-storey building, formerly a double house, recently severely restored. Rubble sandstone, roughly squared, with bull-faced cement repairs to margins.

S ELEVATION: 4-bay. Doorway to outer right; windows to remaining bays at ground and in outer bays at 1st floor. Bullseye window at centre to 1st floor.

E side gable blank with neighbouring building set close.

N elevation substantially altered and repaired; modern windows.

Small-pane and modern glazing patterns. Red pantiles with slate eaves easing course to steeply pitched roof; ashlar coped skews with beak skewputt; E end stack.

Statement of Interest

The house dates from before the laying out of the planned village and is of note for that alone.
