Description

Dated 1843. Imposing farm steading/carriage house/ stable square. Rubble, ashlar dressings. Symmetrical 9-bay south facade, with slightly advanced and gabled centre bay with high round-headed arched entrance with datestone, monogram and coronet above; set of dovecote flight holes and associated alighting ledge in gable apex. Archway flanked by groups of 3 tall round-headed arched carriage house and stable entrances; slightly advanced and gabled outer bays each with paired ground floor windows and centre 1st floor window.

Portion of east side of square formed by pair of single storey and attic cottages, 1 of 2-bays and 1 of 3-bays with centre door; 3 barge-boarded dormers; ridge and rear wallhead stacks. Remainder of square comprises byre and and stores, with horse walk on north side. Loft entrance with stone hoist in north gable of entrance tower.

Crowsteps; stone finials; lattice glazing survives in most south front windows; fine graded local slate roof.
