Description

Early 17th century. Circular-plan dovecot. Thick-walled rubble sandstone construction, roofless. Entrance door at E. Stone nesting boxes intact.

Statement of Interest

The dovecot is mentioned by Ochterlony in circa 1682 and is probably contemporary with Murroes House, ie early seventeenth century. There is a large rectangular rubble-built livestock pen to the north of the dovecot.
