Description

Post 1813, rebuilt 1984. Vehicular bridge over Cross Water of Luce, on N-S axis. Single span, with low segmental arch. Rubble. Rubble voussoirs. Granite slab coping. Wingwalls terminated by granite-capped square piers. Plaque inscribed "Rebuilt 1984" to inside of E parapet.

Statement of Interest

The proposal to build a bridge on this site is given in the "Report of

a proposed road" and the "Plan of Road" of 1813. Dirniemow Bridge is mentioned in 1839 as "a bridge upon the Cross Water of Luce, about four miles from this village" in the NEW STATISTICAL ACCOUNT.
