Description

Possibly later 18th century, reworked in late 19th century. 2-storey with attic and cellar, 3-bay symmetrical house. Sandstone rubble with rendered E and N elevations. Base Course.

E (ENTRANCE) ELEVATION: doorway at cente with stop-chamfered arrises; panelled door; plate glass fanlight; window at 1st floor above; single windows in bays to outer left and right.

N ELEVATION: 2 gabled bays to left; cellar hatch with windows at ground and 1st floors above in 1st bay. Single window at ground in 2nd bay. Recessed wing to outer right; bipartite window at ground; single window at 1st floor. Single storey addition adjoining to W.

S ELEVATION: gabled bay to outer right; windows at ground and 1st floors. Single storey range (possibly former stables) with 5 windows and secondary doorway adjoining to left; lean-to with small window to outer left. Boarded door to opening in gablehead to left return.

4-pane sash and case windows. Grey slate roof; 2 box-dormers to E; brick gablehead stacks.

Statement of Interest

Formerly the White Swan Hotel. Cobbled pavement to principal elevation.
