Robert Pollock Monument

A Category C Listed Building in Mearns, East Renfrewshire

Plaque of Robert Pollock 1798- 1827

Uploader's Comments

The portrait plaque of Robert Pollock is near the old Moorhouse Farm where he was born. The grey stone monument lists some of his most popular stories: "Helen of the Glen" "The Persecuted Family" and "Ralph Gemmell". These sentimental works are unlikely to please modern readers, but Pollock was greatly admired in his time.
