Mid 19th century. 2-storey, 6-bay pair of traditional houses/flatted dwellings. Chlorite-slate rubble with heavy pointing, large quoins, projecting cills and slab lintels; dry-dash to rear.
S (PRINCIPAL) ELEVATION symmetrical. Bays to left (No 16) with part-glazed timber door to centre, windows in flanking bays and regular fenestration to 1st floor, bays to right (No 14) as above but with modern door.
E ELEVATION: blank gabled elevation.
W ELEVATION: gabled elevation with window to each floor at left; bays adjoining at outer left not included in this listing.
N (REAR) ELEVATION: modern door (No 12) to outer left, variety of altered openings beyond to right.
2-pane upper sashes over plate glass in timber sash and case windows. Graded grey slates. Coped ashlar stacks with some cans. Overhanging eaves with plain bargeboarding.
B Group with Nos 13-25, 35-45, 4-8 and 22-50. The present houses in Kenmore Street were built on the site of 18th century flax spinners cottages, and the houses adjoining to the rear of every close were used as cow byres before conversion to dwellings.
